Strategies for getting things done, especially when those things are deeply important, pretty scary, and you have no idea how to start.I'm suffering from imposter syndrome/procrastination paralysis or something. I have a creative project I'd really like to get off the ground, but I'm plagued by self-doubt and have therefore been putting it off. When I do finally get down to work I last maybe 20 minutes before bouncing away to do something, anything else.Tell me your tips and tricks for tackling big, frightening projects. I'd especially like to hear from parents of young children (mine are 5 months and 3 years). When there's ALWAYS something else that needs your attention, it's very easy to avoid the big task.

no0b writes with an Op-Ed by the FCC Commisioner on a UN plan to gain more control over Internet regulation. From the article: "On Feb. 27, a diplomatic process will begin in Geneva that could result in a new treaty giving the United Nations unprecedented powers over the Internet. Dozens of countries, including Russia and China, are pushing hard to reach this goal by year's end. As Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said last June, his goal and that of his allies is to establish 'international control over the Internet' through the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), a treaty-based organization under U.N. auspices. "

astroengine writes with an excerpt from an article at Discovery: "For the first time, 'buckyballs' have been discovered in the cosmos in a solid form. Until now, the only evidence in space for the bizarre little hollow balls of carbon atoms have been in interstellar gases, but with the help of NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope, astronomers have discovered buckyballs accumulating and stacking atop one another to form solid particles. 'These buckyballs are stacked together to form a solid, like oranges in a crate,' said Nye Evans of Keele University in England, lead author of a paper appearing in the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society. 'The particles we detected are minuscule, far smaller than the width of a hair, but each one would contain stacks of millions of buckyballs.'"

Comcast has filed a lawsuit against former business partner Sprint, alleging that the wireless network operator is infringing on its patents. Comcast says Sprint is violating four patents, which pertain to how Sprint uses IP/MPLS to handle its voice and data traffic; how Sprint handles MMS messages, picture mail, video mail, and mobile email; how Sprint handles SMS products, such as Vision Pack; and how Sprint's mobile broadband products, such as USB modems and hotspots, "dynamically bind a network computer client device" to an ISP. Comcast is seeking an injunction, damages, and legal fees.

The Rural Telecommunications Group, Rural Cellular Association, the Media Access Project, and Public Knowledge today joined T-Mobile USA by filing a petition with the Federal Communications Commission asking the government body to prevent Verizon Wireless from acquiring spectrum assets from cable companies. Verizon is hoping to purchase blocks of 700MHz and AWS spectrum for $3.6 billion from Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Bright House Networks, and Cox Communications. The RTG accuses Verizon Wireless of "systematically attempting to corner the market for commercial mobile wireless spectrum while simultaneously stripping existing and potential competitors of all their spectrum holdings. This practice is anticompetitive and a violation of antitrust law and should result in the FCC's denial of all of the applications filed by Verizon Wireless." The RTG, RCCA and others also accused Verizon Wireless of violating the Communications Act of 1934 and the Sherman Antitrust Act.
I saw your article on the LED mod for old tubes . I have a box full and would like to do an array of tubes but I have no clue as to how to wire , power supplies etc. I can do the mechanical part . Could you help me as far the nitty gritty on making this project work ?
I'm glad to hear you want to tackle the LED Vacuum Tube Mod, especially because you'd like to repurpose some hardware that you already have on hand.

[Cesar] recently got a PSP display up and running with his FPGA development board. That’s a nice project, but what we really like is that he set aside a lot of time to show how it’s done every step of the way. This isn’t just a tutorial on that particular screen, but an overview of [...]
